Walkthrough

The walkthrough will be divided into sections based on the main locations and events in the game. We will also provide some tips and tricks along the way to help you overcome the challenges. Let's begin!

Section 1: Core Region

The Core Region is the first region you will explore in Pokemon Dark Rising. It is where the game begins and where you will meet most of the main characters and villains. The Core Region has eight gyms and one Elite Four.

Chapter 1: The Dream

The game starts with a dream sequence where you see the God of Pokemon, Arceus, asking for your help. He tells you that an ancient evil has awakened and is threatening to destroy the world. He also tells you that you are the chosen one who can stop it. He then gives you a special Pokemon egg that contains a powerful Pokemon that will aid you in your quest.

After the dream, you wake up in your room in Tiki Village. You check your PC and find a message from your father, who is a famous Pokemon researcher. He tells you that he has sent you a package containing three starter Pokemon: Dratini, Bagon, and Gible. He also tells you that he is busy with his research and that he will contact you later.

You then go downstairs and talk to your mother, who tells you that your best friend Pete is waiting for you outside. She also gives you your Pokedex and five Pokeballs. You then go outside and meet Pete, who challenges you to a battle. He has one of the three starter Pokemon that your father sent you, depending on which one you chose. After the battle, he tells you that he is going to challenge the gym leader in Atlantic City and that he will see you later.

You then head north to Route 1, where you will encounter various wild Pokemon such as Pidgey, Rattata, Zigzagoon, Sentret, Hoothoot, Starly, Bidoof, Patrat, Lillipup, Purrloin, Pidove, Venipede, Sewaddle, Cottonee, Petilil, Sandile, Darumaka, Dwebble, Scraggy, Yamask, Trubbish, Minccino, and Zorua. You can also find some items such as Potions and Pokeballs along the way. You continue to Route 2, where you will find more wild Pokemon such as Weedle, Caterpie, Wurmple, Nincada, Burmy, Combee, Kricketot, Sewaddle, Venipede, Scatterbug, Spewpa, Fletchling, Litleo, Flabebe, Skiddo, Pancham, Furfrou, Espurr, Honedge, Spritzee, Swirlix, Inkay, and Binacle. You can also find a Poke Mart and a Pokemon Center where you can buy items and heal your Pokemon. You will also meet a girl named Sydney, who is one of your rivals. She will challenge you to a battle and show you her starter Pokemon: Horsea, Larvitar, or Riolu. After the battle, she will tell you that she is also going to Atlantic City and that she will see you there.

After Route 2, you will reach Atlantic City, which is a large and modern city with many buildings and attractions. You can explore the city and find some items such as Antidotes and Super Potions. You can also talk to some people and learn some information about the game. For example, you can learn that there are two Elite Fours in this game: one in the Core Region and one in the Omni Region. You can also learn that there is a mysterious organization called Team Dark Rising that is causing trouble in the world. You will also meet another rival named Blake, who is a member of the Dragon Clan. He will challenge you to a battle and show you his starter Pokemon: Axew, Deino, or Goomy. After the battle, he will tell you that he is looking for Team Dark Rising and that he will see you later.

The main attraction of Atlantic City is the gym, where you will face your first gym challenge. The gym leader is Adrian, who specializes in Water-type Pokemon. He has a team of six Pokemon: Seel (Lv. 15), Shellder (Lv. 15), Corphish (Lv. 16), Buizel (Lv. 16), Wartortle (Lv. 17), and Prinplup (Lv. 18). He will give you the Wave Badge and TM55 (Scald) if you defeat him. After you get the Wave Badge, you can exit the gym and head to the north of the city, where you will find a bridge that leads to Route 3. However, before you can cross the bridge, you will be stopped by a mysterious man named Darugis, who claims to be the leader of Team Dark Rising. He will tell you that he is the ancient evil that Arceus warned you about and that he is planning to destroy the world. He will also tell you that he has captured your father and that he will kill him if you try to stop him. He will then challenge you to a battle and show you his powerful Pokemon: Darkrai (Lv. 50), Hydreigon (Lv. 50), Zoroark (Lv. 50), Houndoom (Lv. 50), Tyranitar (Lv. 50), and Druddigon (Lv. 50). This battle is impossible to win, so don't waste your items and just let him defeat you.

After the battle, Darugis will laugh at you and tell you that you are too weak to stop him. He will then leave with his Pokemon and your father. You will then be rescued by a man named Light, who is a member of the Dragon Clan and Blake's father. He will tell you that he is an ally of Arceus and that he is here to help you. He will also tell you that Darugis is not only a Pokemon, but also a human who has fused with the Dark Stone, a powerful artifact that contains the essence of darkness. He will then heal your Pokemon and give you some advice on how to defeat Darugis. He will tell you that you need to collect all eight badges in the Core Region and then challenge the Elite Four in the Dragon Valley. He will also tell you that you need to find and hatch the egg that Arceus gave you, as it contains a legendary Pokemon that can counter Darugis' power.

After talking to Light, you can cross the bridge and enter Route 3, where you will encounter more wild Pokemon such as Spearow, Ekans, Nidoran, Zubat, Oddish, Bellsprout, Paras, Venonat, Meowth, Psyduck, Mankey, Abra, Machop, Geodude, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Voltorb, Cubone, Rhyhorn, Kangaskhan, Tauros, Eevee, Porygon, Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Snorlax, Togepi, Mareep, Hoppip, Wooper, Pineco, Dunsparce, Gligar, Snubbull, Teddiursa, Slugma, Swinub, Corsola, Remoraid, Delibird, Mantine, Skarmory, Houndour, Phanpy, Stantler, Smeargle, Tyrogue, Elekid, Magby, Larvitar, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Lotad, Seedot, Ralts, Surskit, Shroomish, Slakoth... ...Slakoth, Nuzleaf, Shedinja, Whismur, Makuhita, Nosepass, Skitty, Sableye, Mawile, Aron, Meditite, Electrike, Plusle, Minun, Volbeat, Illumise, Roselia, Gulpin, Carvanha, Wailmer, Numel, Torkoal, Spoink, Spinda, Trapinch, Cacnea, Swablu, Zangoose, Seviper, Lunatone, Solrock, Barboach, Corphish, Baltoy, Lileep, Anorith, Feebas, Castform, Kecleon, Shuppet, Duskull, Tropius... ...Tropius, Snorlax, Absol, Wynaut, Snorunt, Spheal, Clamperl, Relicanth, Luvdisc, Bagon, Beldum, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Starly, Bidoof, Kricketot, Shinx, Budew, Cranidos, Shieldon, Burmy, Combee, Pachirisu, Buizel, Cherubi, Shellos, Drifloon, Buneary, Glameow, Chingling...
